Ryan Dunn, MSW-Level Intern
Ryan is a Vermonter who grew up in the Burlington and Lake Champlain Island areas. Ryan graduated from University of Vermont with a bachelor’s degree in social work in 2018. While he was pursuing this degree, he interned at Howard Center’s Westview House. This was his introduction to being a social worker in the mental health field, having previously worked in the culinary field. Ryan was blessed with the opportunity to learn the stories of the individuals who visited Westview House and develop relationships with these folks. Upon graduation from UVM, Ryan continued to work with adults in Chittenden County diagnosed with acute mental health diagnoses, focusing on direct service and service coordination skills.
Currently, Ryan is pursuing his master’s degree in social work at UVM and is employed as a residential crisis counselor at Howard Center’s Assist program, is a short-term crisis residential facility which provides respite and skill building opportunities.
Ryan is excited to be with Vermont Counseling and Training Center as a school-based clinician.
