Dr. Nicole Hackney, DNP, PMHNP-BC is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with years of experience providing high quality, evidence-based care for all ages in a variety of practice settings. Dr. Hackney is fairly well known in our community as she practiced psychiatry for 6 years at Northwestern Counseling & Support Services before transferring to Upstate New York where she worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In March 2020, in response to needs related to the pandemic, Dr. Hackney started her own private practice back in Vermont.
Dr. Hackney is a graduate of The University of Vermont where she earned a Master’s in Science, a Master’s in Nursing, and a Doctorate in Nursing with a focus in Executive Nurse Leadership. She has also completed six years of advanced psychopharmacology master classes at Harvard University. Dr. Hackney serves on the Board of the Vermont Nurse Practitioners Association.
Dr. Hackney is 100% Telepsych at this time but does anticipate transitioning to in-person care in the future. She is currently licensed to practice in Vermont and New York. She accepts most insurances including Medicaid (VT and NY) and Medicare.
